TEK Specified for Sustainable Newton Moor Development

Kingspan Off-Site’s TEK Building System has been specified by Durham based housebuilder, Newton Moor, to construct Church Mews, a residential project in Nettlesworth, Co. Durham. Consisting of six townhouses, the development has been specially designed to provide high quality, sustainable and energy efficient homes.
Newton Moor specified the TEK Building System for the Church Mews development as it delivers excellent energy efficiency, life-long sustainability and fast build times, helping to streamline the build process as well as improve the performance of completed homes.
Gordon Clough, managing director of Newton Moor explained: “Having used Kingspan Off-Site’s TEK Building System on a number of previous projects, we were confident it would deliver the thermal credentials and design flexibility required for the Church Mews development, and provide the buildability to improve the efficiency of construction.
“The TEK Building System delivers a U-Value of just 0.20W/m2K and provides excellent levels of airtightness. This enabled us to design and construct homes with outstanding energy efficiency. As a result, the running costs and CO2 emissions generated by each of the Church Mews properties have been kept to an absolute minimum.”
In addition to providing excellent energy efficiency, the TEK Building System delivered complete design flexibility for the project, which enabled Newton Moor to realise the complex architectural designs of each three-storey townhouse, quickly and efficiently.
