Kingspan Launches Super Off-Site Division at Interbuild

01 Nov 2007

Interbuild 2007 Exhibition, NEC – 28th October – 1st November
Stand Number: 05-C95/D90

Kingspan has brought together two of its largest building solutions companies to create a new ‘super’ off-site division, Kingspan Off-Site, which specialises in the innovation and delivery of modern methods of construction. The new company was launched at this year’s Interbuild exhibition, where it introduced its full range of timber and steel based off-site solutions, including market leading brands such as the Optima integrated building system, the TEK Building System and the Kingframe system.

This latest move follows Kingspan’s acquisition of Pace Timber Systems and Potton earlier this year, which made it the largest timber based building system manufacturer in the UK. The creation of the new Kingspan Off-Site division, which combines the innovative product solutions and extensive technical expertise of both Kingspan’s timber and steel divisions, has been the final stage in the development of the UK’s first ‘super’ off-site systems provider.

Commenting on the launch of Kingspan Off-Site, managing director, Gilbert McCarthy, said: “Kingspan has been at the forefront of developing modern methods of construction in the form of timber and steel solutions for some years but, until now, this has been under separate divisions. The formation of the new Kingspan Off-Site brings this work together to create a specialist in off-site manufacture and modern methods of construction that has the expertise, knowledge and capacity to develop solutions that meet the needs of any size and type of project.”

At the show, Kingspan Off-Site exhibited the Optima integrated building system, a range of timber frame systems, the Kingframe system and a range of steel frame and façade systems. The TEK Building System, which was recently used to construct Lighthouse, the UK’s first Code for Sustainable Homes level 6 house, also featured on the stand.

Potton, which is the long established leader of the timber frame self build sector and has retained its strong branding following its acquisition, was exhibiting its high performance timber frame systems for developers alongside Kingspan Off-Site at Interbuild.

Kingspan Off-Site is Europe’s leading manufacturer and innovator of modern methods of construction, providing high performance solutions to the private housebuilding and commercial sectors, as well as the public sector. The company uses the latest in off-site manufacturing techniques to produce complete building systems for a broad range of applications at its UK and European facilities.
