A feature of the system is to incorporate a vertical service riser duct formed with prefabricated wall panels, from which services are distributed horizontally through the floor and ceiling zones, which then run down through factory fitted service conduits to the outlets.

The Service Void will Generally Accomodate
- Vertical soil waste and vent pipe
- Combination boiler
- Incoming cold water main
- Incoming electrical main from meter
- Electrical consumer unit
- Vertical extract ventilation duct
Benefits
- Easy access to services and meters
- Rationalization of service ways
- The service void should be centrally located within the dwelling with good access to kitchen and bathroom pods.
- Consideration should be given to the proposed flue arrangements for the boiler.
- Service voids should be aligned vertically.
- An accessible service zone will be provided within the floor cassettes. This zone will always be linked with the vertical service void.
- Good access should be provided via the floor service zone to the pre-installed conduits within the Optima wall/roof.
